Crock-Pot Banana Bread Oatmeal
Oatmeal is one of my favorite dishes for breakfast. Not only is it tasty but it is also very good for you. And, if you add in some fruit or brown sugar, you can have a different tasting breakfast each morning.
The key to making good oatmeal in the slow cooker is using Steel Cut Oats. Quick Oatmeal can not take the time or heat in the slow cooker. Quick Oatmeal or even Old Fashioned Oatmeal will end up burnt and mushy and really unedible in the slow cooker. The Steel Cut Oats are “cut” less and hold up better in the slow cooker.
I used my 4 qt slow cooker for this Crock-Pot Banana Bread Oatmeal recipe. Add all the ingredients to the slow cooker and put the lid on the top. In the morning, you have tasty warm oatmeal that you can serve straight from the slow cooker.
I added fresh sliced bananas and a little more chopped nuts to mine in the morning. Pair it with some toast and orange juice for a great breakfast.
