Trying to start the new year off by making healthier breakfast for myself and my family. One of my favorite quick breakfast to make is oatmeal. I love the add in options that come with oatmeal. I can easily change it up for a little variety each day.
Fruit (sliced strawberries, peaches, apples, bananas, etc) slices are a great option to add in to the oatmeal. You can chose fresh fruit or even use dehydrated fruit. I like to use sliced walnuts or almonds also and walnuts pair nicely with this recipe.
Cooking oatmeal in the slow cooker requires the use of steel cut oats. Steel cut oats take longer to cook and hold up better for the end result. This is not a recipe you can use regular instant or cooked oatmeal for.
The peanut butter and banana combine to form a very tasty and delicious oatmeal in this Crock-Pot Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal.
