Crock-Pot BBQ Beer Pulled Pork
Pulled pork is easy to make in the slow cooker and one that everyone enjoys. Using a beer to cook the pork adds a smokey type flavor to the pork. Some think you end up with a beer favor and alcohol but the alcohol itself cooks off and all you are left with is the additional flavor, which is not a beer flavor.
I chose a regular Budweiser for my beer. For this recipe, really any domestic beer will do just do not use a light pale ale or a dark pale ale. I prefer to cook my pork slow and low but you can also cook it on HIGH for 3-4 hours and then add in the barbecue sauce and cook an additional hour on HIGH. This is a personal preference and really does not make that much of a difference.
For barbecue sauce, I prefer either Sweet Baby Ray’s or my daughter’s favorite barbecue sauce Cookie’s Sweet Hickory. The Cookie’s is a little harder to find as they only sell it at one store locally but it is worth it.
I like to toast my buns for this Crock-Pot BBQ Beer Pulled Pork with a little butter and Morton’s Garlic Sea Salt. Serve with chips and your favorite side dish.
