Crock-Pot Sugar Coated Walnuts

Locally, we have a huge fall sale that spans a couple of counties. Every year, I go to one city specifically to purchase their sugar walnuts and their chocolate covered almonds. These are two of my favorite snacks!!

They usually do not last long. So, I always purchase one bag to each in the car and one to save for another day.

This recipe is similar to those little stand walnuts. I use my slow cooker to make them. And they turned out great!

These make excellent little gifts for the holidays. You can purchase small metal decorative tins from the dollar stores. Place a little waxed paper on the inside of the tin and add your sugar coated walnuts.

This recipe can also be made in a large stock pot. Follow the instructions for the slow cooker, but stir until the sugar has coated the walnuts. Cool on a cookie sheet or parchment paper.
